Next month, the French capital will welcome some 3,000 people from all over the world to attend the week-long Paris Blockchain Week. This prominent meeting will be the focus point of scores of events and workshops, highlighting some of the industry’s latest advancements and bringing to the fore the hottest debates in blockchain development.
The French blockchain overture
Last year, the French government had appeared to warm up to cryptocurrency and blockchain regulations, with French Minister for the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire taking a decidedly pro-crypto stance during the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires and insisting that France “would not miss the blockchain revolution”.
Amid lowered tax rates for gains generated by cryptocurrency and a new voluntary framework for blockchain-based fundraising, genuine interest at the highest level in the government has continued in the direction of developing and regulating the space to promote the new technology.
That stance has only proven to strengthen, as the Paris Blockchain Week Summit will also be joined by Le Maire, as well as Jean-Michel Mis (Member of French Parliament) and Domitille Dessertine (Head of Innovation, Fintech & Competitiveness at Autorité des Marchés.
France is clearly eager to showcase the uniqueness of the French blockchain ecosystem and the Paris Blockchain Week is already impressing with its lineup of speakers. The event will serve to reinforce Paris’ claim as a European capital of innovation and fintech development, its ability to vocations and foster the development of the blockchain scene in the region, and to attract the brightest blockchain talents to set up operations in France.
Save the Date: April 13th to 19th 2019
For seven days, trendy Parisian venue Station F, only minutes away from the Seine River in the City of Lights, will play host to a series of program events.
